Dr. Toni Schindler Zimmerman has been on the Colorado State University Human Development and Family Studies Department faculty and has been the director of the Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) graduate program since 1991. The MFT program is accredited by the COAMFTE national board. The program has been recognized by the board for outstanding work in the training of graduate students especially with respect to diversity training. Toni's research is primarily in three areas; work and family balance, diversity training with youth (the FAIR curriculum), and analysis of relationship advice in the popular media. Toni is an excellent teacher who has been recognized for her enthusiasm and rigor in her teaching especially with respect to diversity training. She recently was on the faculty with the University of Virginia study aboard program, Semester at Sea, where she taught courses on family, sexuality, and gender. This study aboard program visited countries such as South Africa, India, China, Vietnam, Japan, Brazil, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Mauritius.

Jen Krafchick, Ph.D. has been at Colorado State University since 1999 serving in a variety of capacities. She completed a M.S. in Human Development and Family Studies (HDFS) with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy, a graduate certificate in Women's Studies, and a Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Studies in Education with Human Development and Family Studies. In addition to graduate studies, Dr. Krafchick has also served as the Assistant Director at Women’s Programs & Studies coordinating services to students who experienced interpersonal violence (including sexual assault, relationship violence, and stalking). As an academic, Dr. Krafchick has taught in departments across campus including HDFS, Women’s Studies, Education, and the Honors Program. Dr. Krafchick’s research has centered on parenting strategies, gender, and development considerations for multicultural education. Dr. Krafchick’s teaching expertise is in gender studies, sexuality, and marriage and family studies. Prior to joining the staff and faculty at CSU, she served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Solomon Islands from 1996-1998. Jen is married and has two elementary school age children.

Dr. Jen Aberle has been an Adjunct and Distance Education Faculty member at Colorado State University in the Department of Human Development and Family Studies since 2002. Jen’s research explores familial relationships and multicultural education. She has published articles on social justice teaching and curriculum development, parenting, attachment, and care providing for aging parents. She is an outstanding educator who teaches courses on human development, parenting, and grief and loss both on campus and through the HDFS online degree program. In addition, she has a private psychotherapy practice in Fort Collins, CO. Jen is married and has two children, ages two & five.
